When we?re stressed we tend to grab the nearest sweet convenience food. After hearing about the latest financial scandal we may dream of escaping to an island.
There would be no cell phones, no pollution, no marketing to entice spending more money. Then what would we eat and drink? We are quite dependent on grocery stores. Of course the image of an island is accompanied by the coconut palm trees. Those tall trees that can drop a nut and knock a human out, yes there have been cases of coconuts ending someone?s life fatally. The crime of an island life! Do not loiter around the shade of coconut palms.
Caution, do not loiter around the shade of coconut palms. The coconuts are covered in a brown husk; these coarse fibres are stripped off and can be used in the textile industry. Three marks appear on the outer cover and the biggest is usually the one penetrated to release coconut milk. With time coconuts ripen and the contents of the colourless milk turn into the hard kernel, also known as coconut meat.
The coconut kernel is, nutritionally, mainly fat and contains protein. In stores coconut flakes may be scattered on products like snow flakes. It was used commonly in chocolate as its fats helped make chocolate solid at room temperature yet melt in your mouth. To our present times, soaps, deodorants and various other products can be scented with coconut, as it has a distinctive odour. It is the coconut kernel that is pressed to gain its oils. We include the oil in products and various foods, including margarine. Countries with a tropical climate may praise the coconut more as a valuable food.
Notice and read various labels on food products and you probably can find coconut in some product as an ingredient. Coconut milk may be assumed to be like dairy milk as it is called milk, yet it is actually not and does not even look like dairy milk. Those hot summer days are more likely to present us with times when we need something less thick and mucous-forming to drink.
Coconut milk is known to quench and wipe away a thirst. Next time if you dream of a peaceful island life with the swinging palm trees, treat yourself to a coconut. The whole coconut is the healthiest; if they are out of reach then flakes of coconut are generally accessible. We know coconuts cool us down, when we have a hot meal sprinkled with curry spices the side dish of coconut flakes is often provided. Stress can make us hot, cool down and have some island fruit.
