Most people, at some time in their life will suffer from joint pain. To make things worse, joint pain relief is hard to come by. Joint pain treatment comes in many different forms; however, in the end most people are left with only some joint pain relief.
As people are unsatisfied by their pain relief results, more than ever sufferers of joint pain are using natural joint pain relief methods, specifically infrared saunas. infrared portable saunas are an effective way to get heat therapy deep into sore and stiff joints.
Results from research done with patients suffering with rheumatoid finger joints showed a twenty percent decrease in stiffness at 112F as compared to 92F. It is believed that thickened connective tissues should respond in a similar way everywhere on the body.
While testing the elasticity of tissues, researchers found that it is possible to increase the length of their tissues by roughly 10-18% when they are heated and stretched. This was discovered when Justus F. Lehmann heated tissues to 112F and found that after stretching them, they had a non-elastic residual length of about 0.5-0.9% that remained after the stretch is removed. To obtain the increased 10-18% tissue length, Lehmann simply performed 20 stretching sessions.
This effect would be especially valuable in working with ligaments, joint capsules, tendons, fasciae, and synovium that have become scarred, thickened or contracted. Such stretching at 112F caused much less weakening in stretched tissues for a given elongation that a similar elongation produced at normal tissue temperatures. The experiments cited clearly showed that low-force stretching can produce significant residual elongation when heat is applied together with stretching or range-of-motion exercises, which is also safer than stretching tissues at normal tissue temperatures. This safer stretching effect is crucial in properly training competitive athletes so as to minimize their downtime time from injuries.
Infrared sauna therapy has clearly shown itself to be a joint pain treatment that is well worth investing in. Joint pain is a serious problem for millions of people everyday. The low impact and non-intrucive pain releif offered by an infrared sauna is changing lives daily.
