Have you been curious about those two numbers in your blood pressure reading? It’s amazing that doctors emphasize the importance of those numbers, while we don’t have a clue as to what they mean.

These numbers tells how fast and hard the blood is pushed towards the arteries. It is just like how a over filled water in a balloon damages it, the same way the arteries will get damaged. And this will lead to strokes and heart attacks.

A blood pressure reading can look like this: 120/80 mmHg. The first number represents the systolic blood pressure, which is the pressure your blood exerts on your arteries when your heart beats. The second number represents the diastolic blood pressure, which is your blood pressure when your heart rests between beats.

A blood pressure reading of 120/80 is considered normal. Most individuals have this blood pressure or slightly lower. Individuals with blood pressures slightly higher than 120/80 are considered prehypertensive, and doctors often start treating them to keep their blood pressures from escalating.

The lower blood pressure number is considered to be a contributor to blood pressure for a long time. But recent studies have shown that the higher blood pressure number is also a risk when the person has crossed the age of 50.

If your blood pressure number reaches or exceeds 140/90 in two different occasions then you can be confirmed of hypertension. This should be treated at the earliest, if not it may lead several other complications.

To get the numbers to normal side, physicians offer advice patients with some life changing procedures. The patients will asked to stop smoking, drinking and a good change will made to the patients diet.

When they can’t cope with the doctor’s order (and they usually can’t), they lose any improvement on their blood pressure and get back into hypertension. In other words, hypertension can make a person’s life unpleasant.

But there are ways

My Hypertension Program doesn’t require you to do any life-changing practices. The truth is, most of the exercises can be done while you go on about your day. Wouldn’t you want to be one of my customers who have successfully lowered their blood pressures for good?

So now that you know the meaning of those numbers, it’s much more satisfying to see them go down to 120/80 and stay there.
